Corny, Fourth of July Fun at Lake of the Pines. Our Tammy Anderson took Second Place in the "Action Figure" theme Golf Cart Competition. (That's Clark Kent out front in the white shirt.) Here's the First Place "Batmocart." And my favorite. I don't know what it is, but I like it. Nobody does the FOURTH better than Lake of the Pines (even when it's on the SECOND!) Continue Reading!
The Front of House photo is the most important. Take numerous shots from different angles and distances. Time of day may be critical depending on solar exposure. Sometimes you can frame the shot with foliage. Minimize driveways and garages unless they are sensational. Turn all the Interior Lights on, day or night. Consider the Time of Day even for interior shots. Some homes simply do not show well in morning photos. Some homes get too much late afternoon glare. You will probably need...Continue Reading!
Many of our friends and clients knew Dharma who passed away last year. She has been reincarnated in the form of Wazi who was seven weeks old on May 28, 2016 when I shot this little clip. Obviously, the new puppy is BRILLIANT! By the way, her full name is Wazi Tekwa Ga'i which in eastern Shoshone means Girl Who Talks to Packrats. Wazi Tekwa Ga'i is also the title of the fourth volume in my quartet of novels, Daughters of...Continue Reading!

The Jenkins Garden is in the ground, this morning, finished, kaput, one hundred percent! Up here in the Sierra Foothills I am taking a bit of a chance (we occasionally get late spring cold snaps) but the weather is too beautiful, and I just couldn’t help myself, but, I compensated for my impatience with better preparation than usual. Before the first seed or seedling went into the dirt: Preliminary plan drawn on paper. Weeds pulled by hand. Fences and trellis’s (trellises?) repaired. ...Continue Reading!
What to Plant in March Taters! With all the El Nino rain, the spring planting season is getting off to a bit of a late start. Be careful not to dig around too much in sopping wet soil; it wreaks havoc on the soil structure. Also there is a good chance of a late spring frost, so if you do go ahead and plant, be prepared to protect tender new growth. That said, there are plenty of summer annuals in the stores right...Continue Reading!
